Assignment #4

Title: Catherine's Own Book.

  Dear Isabella,
   
                Oh Isabella I barely came back from Northanger Abbey and my mother doesn't know. Also she doesn't know why I'm so sad. I don't want to tell her because of Henry. The worst part is that I didn't even have the chance to tell him goodbye. Do you know how much that hurt me? Tell me Isabella what would you do? Help me because no one understands me. I told them that I suspected a murder and they didn't believe me and I knew they were mad at me but I told them not to show or tell me they were angry. So please Isabella tell me what should I do? How do I forget about Henry?

   Dear Catherine,

                 Hey Catherine, don't worry everything will be alright. Why doesn't your mother know you went to Northanger Abby? Trust me you'll see Henry again and you can actually never say goodbye to him, ya'll shall live happily when you see him again. What I would do is try to find him. Sometimes family will never understand you, that's why you have friends like me who understands you and helps you. If you really want to forget about Henry then don't think about him, forget everything about him.

2 Topics:

• Discuss how Catherine and Henry have different taste in books.
• Discuss how Isabella is engaged with James.

Character: 

• I would like to discuss about Catherine because she is sometimes hard to understand. Also because she just likes so many books and so does Henry but yet they discuss about what book is better.

Conflict in the story:

• The conflict in story is a external conflict because Isabella is engaged and worries about what her parents are going to say and also that John thinks that Catherine wants to marry him.

Assignment #2

Page:53
"It was too...few mornings back." This paragraph is important because the author tells you that Catherine sees the people she saw a couple mornings ago. And it shows that they came to pick someone up. It also makes you realize if those three people in the carriages are important. 

Page:60-61
"The play concluded...not I, Mrs. Allen" This paragraph is also important because Catherine has feelings for Henry Tilney. And she actually saw him at the play. So this means a lot to Catherine.

Assignment #1

List of Characters:
 Catherine Morland- A heroine, the protagonist, a 17 year old girl, and she is very intelligent and naive.
 Mr. Morland- Catherine's father, very respectable, independent, and addicted to locking up his daughters.
 Mrs. Morland- Catherine's mother, she is very occupied, she wishes to see her kids be when they grow older, and she teaches the young ones.
Mr. Allen- owned the chief of the property about Fullerton.
Mrs. Allen- Mr. Allen's wife, she was not beautiful, she wasn't a genius, had no accomplishments, nor manners.
Tilney- Rather tall, had a pleasing countenance, a very intelligent and lively eye, and quite handsome.
Mrs. Thrope- Likes to talk.

Setting: Village in Wiltshire.


Conflict: James is in love with Isabella and he tries to give clues to Catherine but she can't understand them and John likes Catherine but she doesn't seem to notice it. Henry wants to dance with Catherine but Catherine can't even though she wants to because she came with John.

Prediction 1: I think John will find out that Catherine really likes Henry so he will try to take Catherine away from him.

Prediction 2: I think at the end James will end up with Isabella.
